Mike is nick-named Toolroom. He is not just our search engine optimization (SEO) guru, he is also a master at good online branding and business strategies – thanks to time well spent at Chiat\Day advertising. His years of expertise in video production comes in handy too. He is rarely seen without a Pepsi within reach, and he has been doing top quality SEO since 1996.
Mike produced the first client website campaign for Energizer, for Chiat\Day. He has been doing SEO and marketing since 1996. Today, he handles all of MarCom’s ever-changing SEO strategies, resulting in many SEO successes for MarCom clients.
His strategic management has been highly successful at the Recording Connection and Film Connection where he has been responsible for the company’s search engine optimization and lead generation marketing tactics in a highly competitive online category – private trade schools. Marketing strategies included: SEO; website design; content generation; mobile market penetration; local market penetration; expansion into Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom; creation of a charity arm for the company; creation of an entertainment news division for the company; and more. In three years, the company’s revenues have more than tripled through August of 2012. Growth like this is no accident.
Prior, Mike spent twelve years as producer and director for KGMB TV (CBS Affiliate) and as program director for Independent Station KHNL TV in Hawaii, doing commercials, local origination programming and the news. He was the Emmy nominated producer of “Cane Fire!,” a thirty minute prime time music special (which aired before MTV existed). Mike also spent three years as a marketing consultant to Sony Music for Developing Artists-West Coast, helping break artists Alice in Chains, Jeff Buckley and Pearl Jam among others. In the late 70s he propelled the alternative publication, Hawaii Observer, into the number one paid circulation magazine in Hawaii on a marketing budget of $500, outselling the likes of TV Guide and National Enquirer.
A real sports enthusiast, in 1970 Mike created the sport Ultimate Frisbee.
